Generali to introduce cyber insurance services with Vodafone, Accenture

As cyberattacks have grown in frequency and intensity, cyber security has become a concern for businesses and financial institutions, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

To address the issue, Generali Group, Vodafone Business, and Accenture have reportedly collaborated to develop a cyber security service package that would assist the insurer’s business clients in detecting, responding to, and recovering from cyber threats and incidents.

Bruno Scaroni, Generali CTO, mentioned that the firm will help its commercial and SME clients comprehend their risk profile and make the appropriate cyber insurance solutions thanks to its strategic collaboration with Accenture and Vodafone Business.

Generali customers will greatly benefit from the initiative consisting of phishing simulations, cyber risk assessments, and learning programs, which will help them ensure a quick return to normal operations and alleviate the consequences in their organization and third parties.

The new services are in line with Generali’s strategic plan “Generali 2021,” which aims to strengthen the company’s ambition to be a “Lifetime Partner” to its customers by bolstering its position in the corporate and SME segments, and evolving modular products and prevention services in the P&C business.

Accenture, as a worldwide cybersecurity provider, will deliver cyber risk assessments and quick responses to cyber incidents to Generali’s customers. It will also provide Generali’s cyber insurance underwriters access to Accenture’s Security Academy platform, which offers learning programs in several languages on cyber dangers and how to respond to them.

Vodafone’s role is in this program is geared towards the SME sector, mainly for delivering post-breach incident response services and managing the insured’s contractual relationship. SMEs can benefit from initial incident classification and response actions to a complex security investigation, thanks to a global reach and comprehensive cyber security portfolio of services.

Moreover, insurance firm Europe Assistance will also provide global coordination and serve as a point of contact for corporate and SME customers, providing 24/7 front-line support to assist clients in identifying cyber incidents and activating the appropriate resolution services.
